How to Read a Welcome Bonus Before You Claim It

Start with the wagering requirement

The wagering requirement tells you how many times you must bet the bonus amount before you can withdraw winnings. For example, a 30x requirement on a RM100 bonus means you need to place RM3,000 in bets. Lower numbers are better, and anything above 50x makes the bonus very hard to clear.

Check whether the requirement applies only to the bonus or to the deposit plus bonus. Some offers say "30x deposit + bonus", which is much higher than "30x bonus only". Always calculate the actual turnover needed, and only proceed if the number fits your typical betting style and bankroll.

Check which games count

Not all games contribute equally to wagering. Slots often count 100%, while table games like blackjack or baccarat may count only 10% or even zero. Malaysia-based players using the platform should look for bonuses that allow slots and live casino games at a fair contribution rate.

If you prefer playing live dealer games from the lobby, confirm the contribution percentage in the terms. A game that counts only 10% means you need ten times more bets to clear the same wagering. Avoid bonuses that exclude your favourite games entirely, as they will waste your deposit.

Find the minimum deposit

The minimum deposit to qualify for a welcome bonus is usually stated clearly. On the platform, this amount is often around RM30 or RM50. Depositing less than the minimum means you get no bonus at all. Also check if the bonus triggers automatically or requires a bonus code during deposit.

If you use e-wallets like Touch 'n Go or GrabPay, confirm that these methods are eligible. Some offers exclude certain payment types, or require a minimum deposit that differs for bank transfer versus e-wallet. Always read the deposit terms for your preferred method before sending any ringgit.

Note the expiry period

Every welcome bonus has an expiry date, usually between 7 and 30 days from the moment it is credited. If you do not complete the wagering within this period, the bonus and any winnings from it are forfeited. For Malaysian players who can only play on weekends, a 7-day expiry may be too short.

Check whether the expiry counts from the bonus issue date or from the first deposit. Some offers reset the timer after each deposit. If you plan to play slowly, choose a bonus with a longer validity. Missing the deadline means losing both the bonus and any profits made from it.

Read the maximum bet rule

Many bonuses cap the maximum bet you can place while wagering. A common limit is RM30 per spin or per hand. If you place a bet above this limit, the casino may void your bonus and any winnings. This rule applies to all games, including live dealer and slots in the lobby.

For high-stakes players, a low max bet makes the bonus unappealing because you cannot bet enough to clear the wagering quickly. Always compare the max bet limit to your usual stake size. If you bet RM100 per hand and the limit is RM30, that bonus is not for you.

Look at withdrawal restrictions

After you finish wagering, the bonus terms may impose a maximum withdrawal limit on winnings. For example, you might only be able to withdraw up to RM500 from bonus winnings, even if you won more. Any excess is removed. This is often buried in the fine print under "max cashout".

Also check whether the bonus has a "no withdrawal" clause on the deposit itself before wagering is done. Some terms state that you cannot request a withdrawal of your deposit until the bonus is cleared or forfeited. Understanding these limits before you claim prevents disappointment later.
